I noticed that even with the Unicode setting to Japanese, some japanese characters were not displayed. You can see it yourself in the error message you posted. I thought that could be the reason for the install failing.
ReplySo Here is how I got it to work :
1_Mount the disc image
2_Copy all files to your hard disk in a temporary folder
3_Edit setup.ini (temporary folder) and replace all instances of japanese characters with something in western alphabet.
For example, replace
Title="シュヴァルツェスマーケン 殉教者たち セットアップメニュー";
With
Title="Schwarzemarken JunkyoushaTachi Set-Up";
And so on with every word in japanese characters.
It doesn't matter what you replace with, just write it in western characters.I translated so it made sense, but you don't have to.
4_Save Setup.ini
5_Launch Inst.exe
6_Choose where to install game
7_You may have an error message, but simply acknowledge it, the game started installing after that.
8_Run installed game (name_you_wrote.exe)
Haven't played it yet, but the game's intro runs fine and it did find my cleared game save from the previous Schwarzesmarken game.
